Zainal
Abidin Iberahim started his broadcasting career with Radio
Television Malaysia (RTM) in 1981 after completing his studies
at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with an honours degree in
Mass Communications. His tenure at RTM for 25 year enabled him
to gain experience not only in television and radio production
but also in management positions in both media. Zainal Abidin
was promoted to be the Head of News and Current Affairs from
2002 to 2006 before he opted out to start his own business. One
of the highlights of his career in RTM was when RTM was
appointed Host broadcaster for the XVI Commonwealth Games in
1998. From Manager of General Services he was promoted to deputy
director of the Host Broadcaster Unit and it was one of the most
successful coverage of the Games ever.
Whilst serving RTM
Zainal Abidin was involved with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting
Union, a regional non-profit organization, and was appointed
Vice-President for 7 successive years from 1999 to 2005.

BroadcastingUnion in 2010 and took office in February of that
year
