His Highness Dhi Yazan bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of the Sultanate of Oman, approved the executive plan of the cultural strategy 2021-2040.
This strategy comes from the belief in the need to unify national efforts to achieve development in various fields; And transforming the Omani cultural scene into a front for creativity and cultural diversity that reflects the civilized face of the Sultanate through an integrated cultural system that exports creativity and is open to other human cultures.
The Ministry prepared the strategy in five phases; Through a participatory approach between the Ministry, cultural institutions and those interested in the cultural affairs of the Sultanate; It is based on work teams that contributed to monitoring the cultural scene in the Sultanate and abroad, according to the Ministry's competencies and roles.
In its implementation, the strategy relied on defining and analyzing the responsibilities of the cultural sector; And then draw a vision consistent with what the strategy aims at, “Oman, a leading cultural destination with a solid identity,” so that the strategy’s message and values emanate from this vision during the coming period.
The strategy also dealt with 11 areas that reflect cultural activity in the Sultanate, with axes compatible with global transformations according to its economic, social, political and cultural fabric, and in line with the objectives of national, regional and international strategies.

The strategy’s executive plan defined the mechanisms for its implementation and follow-up by translating the objectives and strategic directions of the plan. The executive plan will formulate multiple strategic projects that correspond to the sector’s future phase and integrate with the objectives.
It is worth noting that these projects will be managed in a systematic manner according to performance indicators that contribute to achieving follow-up, implementation and evaluation through the establishment of an advisory committee to supervise the components of the strategic plan, and appoint project managers to follow up the implementation and progress of performance.
