
The Extraordinary Session of the Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers will kick off Wednesday in Manama, Bahrain, under the theme of “Together for Safeguarding Human Heritage and Countering Extremism”, and under the patronage of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The two-day meeting is being held by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), in cooperation with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, and in coordination with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The conference agenda features the discussion of the Report of the Consultative Council of Cultural Development in the Islamic World at its 16th Session; the Draft Action Program on the Promotion of Islamic and International Support for Safeguarding Civilizational and Cultural Heritage in Al-Quds Al-Sharif; and the Draft Manama Process for the Activation of Joint Islamic Cultural Action to Counter Extremism, Sectarianism and Terrorism. The meeting will come to an end with the issuance of the “Bahrain Declaration on Safeguarding Human Heritage and Countering Extremism” and adoption of its final draft report and resolutions.
The conference will bring together ministers of culture from the OIC member states as well as several experts and representatives of Arab and Islamic organizations interested in cultural activities.
